Metro D Store, located in the Village of Rochester Hills, is celebrating their first holiday season in their space adjacent to Whole Foods on the northeast corner of Adams Road and Walton Boulevard. Owners, Colin McConnell and Michael Haas, decided on featuring unique Detroit and Michigan-made apparel and home goods. McConnell’s clothing line, Detroit Respect, is also showcased in the store. The brand, he said, embraces the passion and positive energy to one of the greatest and hardworking cities in the world. The Metro D Store is at 112 Adams Road, Rochester Hills.
The Detroit Shoppe – Troy
The mission of The Detroit Shoppe is to showcase people, places and products that have shaped the city. The Detroit favorite can be found in the Somerset Collection at 2800 W. Big Beaver Road in Troy. The shoppe is filled with a variety of nostalgic favorites for diehard Detroiters including goodies from Faygo, Vernors, Better Made and Sanders. The Detroit Shoppe sells a selection from several well-known area establishments including The Henry Ford Museum and Eastern Market.
Rust Belt Marketplace – Ferndale
The Ferndale Plaza Shopping Center, also known as The Rust Belt Market, is a vintage marketplace that features a variety of Detroit-based artists from local companies including Great Lakes State, Motor City Brick and Detroit Vintage Collective. The plaza is a hot spot for locals to keep up to date on the items from their favorite businesses in addition to a gathering place for those visiting from out of town who want to bring a piece of Detroit back home with them.
