If you are a business owner, you should spend a portion of your time marketing your company through social media (if you aren’t already). I’d love to talk with those who haven’t yet taken advantage of the opportunities sharing content with millions of people can bring. If we reflect back to a decade earlier, we’ll realize how far we’ve come in the world of engaging with one another through the use of the Internet. Ten years ago, my presence on social media was non-existent. If I wanted to share the news about my brand, I had to list it in the Yellow Pages or go door-to-door handing out flyers. Although now, through social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, I am able to get information about my product in front of millions of eyeballs around the world. Through social tools, I’ve engaged with business owners and entrepreneurs as far as Sweden, Spain and Ireland. The platforms give us the power to reach people living right down the road or thousands of miles away – it is an asset we can utilize to reach our target audience, as well. If you are a gardener or organic soap maker, you have access to people interested in what you have to offer. Use it to your advantage. Create and share content each day in order to build a following that leads to a larger customer base. Majority of social media platforms (such as those mentioned above) come at no cost to the business owner. Through daily active engagement and social listening, you can gather relevant data and use that information to make smarter business decisions. Your presence on social media allows clientele to find and connect with you. And by connecting with your customers, you’re more likely to increase customer retention and brand loyalty. Social media isn’t just about blasting your company’s sales pitch, it’s a two-way channel where you have the opportunity to engage with others and build relationships with fans of your product.
We’ll be sharing an article soon touching on how to effectively use each platform below as a benefit for business growth.
